01
Add your entries
Type one entry per line: names, chores, games, tonight's dinner. To bring over a whole column from Excel or Google Sheets, copy it and paste it in, or load a CSV or xlsx file directly.
-
02
Spin
Click “Spin” or press the space bar. The wheel coasts for a few seconds, then shows the result.
-
03
Remove the winner
For a giveaway, “Remove winner” takes the name off the wheel so nobody wins twice. Tick “Remove the winner after every spin” and it happens on its own. Past results stay in a list.
-
04
Keep your wheels
Every wheel saves itself in your browser. Under “Your wheels” you can add more, say one for the giveaway and one for picking the next game. “Copy link” sends a wheel to someone else.
Wheel spinner questions
Is the wheel spinner really random?
Yes. Before the wheel starts moving, your browser draws the result with crypto.getRandomValues, the random number generator browsers also use for encryption. Every entry gets picked in proportion to its share of the wheel. The spin only shows the result that was drawn, so when or how often you click makes no difference.
How do I get a list of names from Excel onto the wheel?
Select the column in Excel or Google Sheets, copy it and paste it into the list. Every cell becomes an entry and empty rows are dropped. You can also load the sheet as a CSV or xlsx file.
Can one entry get better odds?
Yes, add a vertical bar and a number. “Pizza | 3” takes up three times the space of an entry without a number, so it comes up three times as often.
How do I remove the winner after a spin?
After every spin the wheel offers “Remove winner”. Clicked too fast? “Undo” brings the name back. For a whole giveaway, tick “Remove the winner after every spin” and the wheel loses one name per round.
How do I make a yes or no wheel?
Add two entries, Yes and No. Each gets half the wheel and the same chance. Add “Maybe” as a third entry, or write “Yes | 2”, if you want to tilt the odds a little.
Can I save more than one wheel?
Yes. Under “Your wheels” you can create as many as you need, name them and switch between them. They are saved in the browser on your device. To move them to another device or keep a backup, use “Save as file” and bring them back there with “Load file”.
Are my names sent to a server?
No. The wheel runs entirely in your browser, your entries stay in your device's local storage, and there is no account. When you share a link, the wheel sits in the part of the address after the #, which the browser never sends to the server. When someone opens the link, the page removes that part from the address before any analytics service starts, and analytics only runs if you agreed to it. Where you send the link is up to you.
Is the wheel spinner free?
Yes. No account, no ads and no limit on how often you spin.
