Set up the Roulette overlay in OBS

Your chat bets, the 3D wheel spins, winners are settled.

The Roulette overlay puts a real roulette table into your scene: your chat bets by command, a wheel rendered in 3D spins, and the winners are settled at the end. Here is how to set it up and which commands you and your chat need.

  1. 01

    Download the file

    Download the widget.html from the Roulette overlay and put it together with the config.js.example into its own folder. One folder per overlay sounds fussy, but it saves you the hunt later.

    Add it as a browser source in OBS

    In OBS click the plus under Sources, then Browser. Tick Local file, select the widget.html, set Width 1920 and Height 1080. If you get stuck on any of that, the general browser source guide walks through it in more detail.

    Set your channel and the house rules

    Copy config.js.example to config.js and enter your Twitch name at channel. Optionally you set the rules in the same file: maxSeats decides how many viewers may sit at the table at once, rouletteMinBet and rouletteMaxBet bound the stakes, and render3d switches between the 3D wheel and a leaner flat rendering.

    Play the first round

    A moderator types !roulette, which opens the table. Your viewers bet with !bet and two details: on what and how much. So !bet red 500 for a colour or !bet 17 200 for a single number. The moderator then spins with !spin, shows the winnings with !reveal and clears the table with !clear.

How do my viewers bet?

With !bet <target> <amount>, for example !bet red 500 or !bet 17 200. A person's first bet secures them a seat at the table, and by default there are eight seats per round.

Are the points paid out automatically?

With Streamer.bot, StreamElements or Firebot, yes, winners get their points credited straight away. That means your chat bot's own currency, not Twitch channel points, which nobody but Twitch can hand out. Without a bot the overlay shows a ready-made payout command for you to send yourself. Nothing happens when I type !roulette

The start command is deliberately limited to moderators, so not every viewer can open a round. Check that you are recognised as a mod in your own channel, and that the channel name in config.js is right.

Can I adjust the wheel and the stakes?

Yes, all through config.js: 3D or flat wheel, number of seats, smallest and largest stake, the length of the betting countdown and the language of the on-screen text.
