GTA 6 Stream Ideas for Your Chat
Five ways to let your chat play along when GTA 6 launches, and none of them needs your hands.

GTA 6 comes out on 19 November 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with no PC version announced. Streaming it at launch means streaming from a console, and that takes away two things you take for granted on PC: a view of your chat and a free hand.
Why console streams need different overlays
On PC, your chat sits on a second screen and the mouse sits next to the keyboard. On console, you hold the controller and look at the TV. An overlay for your GTA 6 stream has to do two things:
- Your chat or your mods run it, not you.
- You hear what happens. Anything that only shows on screen passes you by while you play.
1. Hear your chat instead of reading it
With the TTS Overlay, viewers type !say and their message, and the overlay reads it out in a real voice. On a console stream this is the idea that matters most: you hear your chat without taking your eyes off the game. The voice runs locally inside OBS, with no cloud service. It plays from the PC: with your headset plugged into the controller, you only hear the console. For this idea the headset belongs on the PC, or you listen through speakers.
On stream it sounds like this: you are in the middle of a police chase and a voice says "just drive into the water". You answer without letting go of the controller, and your chat knows you are listening.
To keep it from talking nonstop, set a character limit or make !say cost points from your bot (StreamElements, Streamer.bot or Firebot). How paid read-outs work is covered in Twitch Text to Speech Setup.
2. Let chat roll your punishments
The Prize Wheel spins when a viewer redeems a channel point reward and lands on a rule you have to follow. You set the slices up front in the Config Hub, for example:
- Five minutes on foot only
- No weapons until the next mission
- Stop at red lights
- Take the next car that drives past
- Radio off until you die
- Lucky you: no punishment
The wheel clicks audibly while it spins, but it does not read the result out. A mod can announce it with !say through the TTS Overlay, or you glance at the preview on the next loading screen. Channel points need a bot to pass the redemption on, plus a cooldown on the reward in Twitch so the wheel does not spin every minute. Mods can spin without a bot using !drehen. Setup is in Set up a spin wheel in OBS, more reward ideas in Twitch channel point reward ideas.
3. Count every death
The Death Counter keeps track of whatever your chat wants counted. Several counters run in one source, and your mods address them by name: !plus tode, !plus verhaftet, !plus unfall (you choose the names). A miscount is fixed with !set. You set up the first counter in the Config Hub and add more by hand in config.js. On stream you do nothing, and the counter needs no bot and no account.
Add a goal and it turns into a game: "at 50 deaths, a set of push-ups". The progress bar shows your chat how close that is. Setup is in Set up a death counter in OBS.
4. Set yourself a goal for the night
The Win Challenge shows a task list with a countdown. For GTA 6 that could be three missions without dying, one race won and a million earned, all before midnight. Miss it and the penalty everyone knew about is due.
Your mods tick things off with !win, a setback is !fail. When chat comes up with a good idea, a mod adds it as a new task mid-run with !addchal. The clock counts against real time, so it survives an OBS crash. Setup is in Set up the Win Challenge overlay in OBS.
5. Put your chat on screen
The Chat Overlay puts your Twitch chat on stream. On console it does little for you, but a lot for your viewers: anyone watching full screen or catching a clip later can see what you are reacting to. No bot, no account, and commands like !plus are hidden.
What each idea needs
| Idea | Overlay | Who runs it while you play | Bot needed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chat read aloud | TTS Overlay | Viewers with !say | only if read-outs cost points |
| Punishment wheel | Prize Wheel | Viewers via channel points, mods with !drehen | only for channel points |
| Death count | Death Counter | Mods with !plus | no |
| Goal for the night | Win Challenge | Mods with !win and !fail | no |
| Chat on screen | Chat Overlay | nobody | no |
All five overlays are free. You get them in the Config Hub and add them to OBS as a browser source, as shown in Set up a Twitch overlay in OBS. Hand your mods the commands before you go live: on stream, they are your hands.
Frequently asked
Can I use overlays when streaming straight from my PS5 to Twitch?
No. Overlays run in OBS as a browser source, which means the console has to connect to a PC through a capture card. Streaming directly from a PS5 or Xbox offers no way to add a browser source.
How do I follow Twitch chat while playing on console?
The easiest way is a TTS overlay: viewers type !say and their message, and it is read out on stream. You hear your chat without looking away from the TV.
What channel point rewards fit a GTA 6 stream?
Rules that hold you back while you play, such as five minutes on foot only, no weapons until the next mission, or stopping at red lights. With a prize wheel, the reward triggers a spin and the wheel picks the rule.
Do I need a bot for these overlays?
Not for the Death Counter, Win Challenge or Chat Overlay, which read Twitch chat directly. You only need a bot such as Streamer.bot, StreamElements or Firebot if channel points spin the wheel or read-outs should cost points.
Does this cost anything?
No. The TTS Overlay, Prize Wheel, Death Counter, Win Challenge and Chat Overlay are free and need no account.
Is this an official GTA overlay?
No. The overlays work with any game and are not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two.
